II. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is committed to the principle that migration and society. IOM works with its partners in the international community to: help address the growing challenges of migration management at the operational level; promote understanding of migration issues; encourage social and economic development through migration; and ensure respect for the human dignity and well-being of migrants. Within the aforementioned framework, its activities include the identification, registration and assistance for the voluntary return of migrants living in vulnerable situations in Dominican territory and who voluntarily return to their country and restart their lives in dignified conditions.

III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.To support the activities of the mission’s projects and programs.
2.Participate in planning sessions in coordination with IOM staff.
3.Provide support to administrative areas as liaison between these and operational areas.
4.Assist when necessary in the area of attention to vulnerable population.
5.Coordinate with the immigrant community leaders of the different communities in the province and surrounding areas.
6.Identify and refer potential beneficiaries of Humanitarian Aid in accordance with IOM selection criteria.
7.Coordinate institutional strengthening activities for government entities and civil society.
8.Visit the reception centers for immigrants managed by the Dominican government.
9.Collaborate with the coordination of IOM activities at the national level.
10.Prepare and elaborate reports on the work carried out as well as any other subject of interest to IOM.
11.Locate project opportunities and collaborate with the procurement of these on behalf of IOM.
12.Perform other related duties as assigned.

IV. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION
•School diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,
•Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.

EXPERIENCE
•Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
•Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
•Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Spanish, English and French (oral and written).
